Mrs. Higgins?

A POEM--

How could life be so cruel?
How would I be dual?
How could rain be so wet?
How would I be a threat?

How could the sun be so scorching?
Oh, I will not be slouching!
How could people be so busy?
How would I be dizzy?
How could books be so original?
Ah, may I ask Mr. Writer—are you eligible?

Dear Mrs. Higgins, will you allow me to answer?
Life is not cruel,
It could; would be better,
If you would be patient,
May I say you will suffer lesser.

You will not have to be dual,
Just follow your dreams,
Would you then,
Think how tasty are your beans?

Rain is wet because God made it so,
If you would stay under shelter,
Could you not prevent the flow?

Sun has to be scorching,
How would it be scary otherwise?
And how would you feel,
If due to lack of heat,
Your brother dies?

People stay busy to relieve their grievances,
Could; would you allow someone steal something,
That isn’t even his?

Well, Mrs. Higgins books will be the best,
If you would—and will leave this,
Mr. Writer alone,

To write a book that’ll leave you impressed!
